Surface treatment of steel bar gratings are generally divided into 3 kinds of methods  including spray anti-rust painting, electric galvanized, hot dipped galvanized. Among these, hot dipped galvanized is the best surface treatment with good corrosion resistance. However, even if the best surface treatment, there is also a service life for corrosion resistance.

Generally,hot dipped galvanized steel bar grating has a long service life under the high quality external environment.such as in the dry fields,its life can reach 70 to 80 years. Under general environment, its life can reach 40 to 50 years. Under the strong acid-base industrial environment, its life is 20 or 30 years. From the above examples, the external factors which affect service life of hot dipped galvanized steel bar gratings are mainly the air humidity and PH value. As long as ensure the use environment of hot dipped galvanized steel bar gratings are not wet and PH value is larger than PH 6 and less than PH12, it is problem that using hot dipped galvanized steel bar gratings for 40 to 50 years. If beyond this range, the anti corrosion ability of zinc layer will decrease rapidly.
